DIY Tri-Draft Tabletron!
“Get Ready to Interlock! Dyno-therms connected!”
My day-job recently abandoned a very expensive and heavy duty tripod used for film. It sat next to my desk for a couple weeks collecting dust and sending hopeful vibes at me until I realized it would make an excellent new base for my old drafting table. (I’ve had this old drafting table since I was at least 11 years old circa (1995.) I still remember picking it out at the local K-mart)
“Form feet and legs!”
One of my biggest complaints about traditional drafting tables is that they do not allow for 360 swivel and tilt of the table itself, but because the tripod had that functionality built into it, I was easily able to take full advantage of it. I spent about $20 at the hardware store and installed support brackets.
“Form arms and body!”
Now I can draw those difficult arcs with a certain ergonomic ease. With their forces combined they become Voltr.. er Tri-Draft Tabletron!
